AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 - Indonesia Road to Final! II

The Semi Final    

As a group A Leader Indonesia play with the group B runner up, The Brand New Philippines. Its Brand new because 9 off 11 their player are naturalization player who are experience in European football league.  

Philippines team has surprising beat the host and hold champion Vietnam 2-0, hold Singapore 1-1 and play goalless 0-0 with Myanmar.

Semi final should be play home and away, but since none of Philippines stadium has filled AFF standard to do the International match, then AFF gave them the option to play the home game in a neutral country or play them in Indonesia which Philippines choose to play both game in Indonesia.

First Leg, Philippine 0-1 Indonesia

With the brand new team Philippines give Indonesia some trouble until Christian Gonzales, Indonesian forward score exploit the strong young Philippines goal keeper mistake in the 31st minutes. Until the game over none of the team can score another goal.

Second leg, Indonesia 1-0 Philippine


In the second leg that are play at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta as well. Indonesia give Philippine a tight presser and take attacking initiative, a few chance has created but the Indonesian striker can not make it goal. Philippine has played well and a few time give Indonesia defender trouble. At the 42nd minutes, Christian Gonzales strike the second shoot from outside th box and go through the Philippine goal keeper, make Indonesia lead 1-0 of the game.


By the last minutes of the games, Indonesian goal keeper, Markus Horizon make a mistake but fortunately there is still a defender to safe the goal. 1-0 is stand until the game over. Indonesia won over Philippine with 2-0 aggregate.



Indonesia go through the final where Malaysia already waiting on after eliminate the held champion Vietnam in other Semifinal game with aggregate 2-0
